During the experience, scholars interact directly with healthcare providers, learn how teams respond to real-life clinical situations, and explore the critical thinking required in emergency scenarios. This opportunity also strengthens professional development by helping students understand the responsibilities, work-life balance, and community impact associated with serving diverse and underserved populations across healthcare environments.

Health Career Professionals Mock Emergency Preparedness

Scholars and program staff experience inter-professional education via a mock emergency preparedness activity. Scholars gain exposure to different disciplines including (but not limited to) medicine, public health, radiologic/imaging science, and therapy/rehabilitation. Scholars interact with health care professionals in this experience and learn the necessary steps to take when faced with a real-life emergency.
