Jared Bailey is a junior Biology Pre-med major at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. Over the summer, Jared interned with SPCC Atlanta AHEC while shadowing multiple physicians in DeKalb and Fulton Counties. Jared has a passion for science and has conducted and presented research on non-pathogenic viruses. His findings sequenced in research databases. Jared works as a compliance officer for the Corella and Bertram F. Bonner Foundation at Morehouse College. In this role, he diligently serves the community by mentoring youth, advocating for change in the healthcare industry, and being a national representative for the Bonner Foundation. His career aspirations are to become a family medicine physician and to provide healthcare services of excellence to the underserved.
During his time at SPCC Atlanta AHEC, Jared played an integral role in many summer activities including: Speed-Learning Health Professional Round Table, From Mock-tales to a Career, Health Career Professionals Mock Emergency Preparedness, Emory’s Summer Science Academy, presentations given to Odyssey Atlanta students held at The Westminster Schools (coordinated by Jared), and other general health careers presentations. His support and enthusiasm for SPCC Atlanta AHEC’s mission is an inspiration to all.
