History of SPCC Atlanta AHEC

Morehouse School of Medicine began AHEC in 1984 to improve the distribution of health professionals in underserved areas of metropolitan Atlanta. The service area expanded in 1996, following a merger with the Southeastern Primary Care Consortium (SPCC), a nonprofit, community-based organization, also established by Morehouse.

Now known as SPCC Atlanta AHEC, we provide a comprehensive array of health professions and health education programs to Fulton, DeKalb and Clayton counties.
